According to a recently submitted permit application, a new commercial bookstore and wine cafe is coming to Berkeley.
Taking over a space at 2945 College Avenue, Book Society will land near Humphry Slocombe, La Mediterranee, and Summer Kitchen + Bakeshop.
What Now San Francisco contacted the concept’s owner, Rita Gordon, to inquire about the menu and other pertinent details, but she could not offer additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing states that the cafe — plus reading room and library — will offer small plates and wine service alongside books, bottled wine, and craft and artisan merchandise.
