A new concept, Chicken Dumpling Co., is coming to the Bay Area this fall.

Chicken Dumpling Co.’s Founder, Wingyin Cheung, tells What Now San Francisco that the family-operated eatery will offer a small menu of Cantonese cuisine made with “fresh, organic ingredients.”

Options will include a few types of Cantonese-style dumplings — or soft dumplings made with wheat flour that often contain meat and vegetables — as well as chicken sausage and sweet potato fries.

Cheung shares that she is planning to open a brick-and-mortar in the foreseeable future, but is focused on a food truck-centered operation at the moment “because it requires less capital to start, plus more flexibility.”

Beginning this September, Chicken Dumpling Co. will begin serving in the parking lot of its commercial kitchen space at 2324 Fifth Street in Berkeley, as well as outside of local breweries.

Stay tuned for additional updates.
