A new restaurant is bringing Western Indian cuisine to San Jose.

According to a recent beer and wine license application, Egglicious India is coming to 4996 Stevens Creek Boulevard — taking over a space that was formerly home to Heritage Noodles, near Bill’s Cafe, Dumpling Capital, and Gogo Phở.

Operating Partner Yatish Patel tells What Now San Francisco that the dishes are inspired by everything from the traditional street food of Surat to Indo-Chinese appetizers — and lists Surti egg ghotala and vegetarian manchurian as a couple of the menu items he’s most excited about.

Additionally, Patel mentions basket chaat — a famous street food of Lucknow that serves a variety of flavorful fillings in a nest of grated potatoes — and credits Chef Sagar Patil as the brain behind the cuisine and Riddhi Patel as the owner.

The eatery is slated to open this summer. Stay tuned for additional updates.
