A new eatery, Bagatella, is coming to the Marina — taking over a space at 3348 Steiner Street that was formerly home to Saiwalks, near restaurants such as Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria, Home Plate, and Jaranita SF Peruvian Rotisserie.

According to the state business registry, restaurateur Serkan Bikim — owner of Bay Area establishments such as Pasha and Hummus Mediterranean Kitchen — is behind the concept.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Bikim to inquire about his plans for Bagatella’s menu and the eatery’s slated opening date, but he could not provide additional information before publication

— so stay tuned for updates.

For readers curious about the fate of Saiwalks, the Vietnamese restaurant closed back in May, its owner leaving behind a note on the location’s front door that read, “Please remember Saiwalks fondly and share the memories of good times we all had while our doors were open for nearly 3,345 continual days… It has been my heart and spirit.”
