According to a recent business license application, a new restaurant called Mala Town is coming to Berkeley.

The eatery will open at 2041 University Avenue — in the space that’s currently home to Sushi Go Go — near establishments like Berkeley Social Club, Imm Thai Street Food, Platano, and Tender Greens.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Mala Town Co-Owner Qi (Kenny) Kong, who shared that the restaurant will serve Asian cuisine and listed spring rolls and soups as a few menu items.

With very few renovations needed, Kong estimates that the restaurant will open sometime in March. At this point, he is just waiting on his license applications to be processed.
