According to a recently submitted permit application, a new fast-casual concept, Jumbo Chicken, plans to debut in Berkeley.

Coming to 2507 Hearst Avenue, B, the eatery will land near establishments such as Delah Coffee, La Val’s Pizza, and Seoul Hotdog.

Owner Shanglian Chen tells What Now San Francisco that the restaurant’s menu will focus on fried chicken and sides including french fries and salads — and that locals will be able to dine in at the cozy, 750-square-foot space or order to-go and enjoy the cuisine in the comfort of their own homes.

While Chen is still working to obtain the required permits, he shares that Jumbo Chicken is slated to open before spring. Stay tuned for updates.
