Chad and Monica Kaneshiro, the restaurateurs behind the now-shuttered brunch restaurant Morning Wood, are planning to debut a new concept in Burlingame — this time a Japanese eatery, Kuma Nori.

Coming to 1861 El Camino Real, the restaurant will soon neighbor establishments such as American Bull Bar & Grill, Little Luca, and The Habit Burger Grill.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Kuma Nori — named after the couple’s two dogs — will be “an intimate, izakaya-style restaurant” that will offer items such as donburi topped with tonkatsu, tempura, and sashimi, to name just a few.

The restaurant is slated to open before the end of the year. Stay tuned for updates.
