A new live music venue and beer garden is hoping to take over an existing warehouse in West Oakland, according to a recent permit application.

At 2222 Wood Street, the project will be located in the current Soundwave Studios space, near establishments such as Coyote Hearing Studio, Horn Barbecue, and The Taco Panzon.

The yet-to-be-named project “promises to provide a midsized venue for up and coming, as well as established local artists and performers; create dozens of jobs; and revitalize the area,” the filing states.

Offering over 5,000 square feet, the warehouse will be able to accommodate an audience of approximately 275 people. In addition to a stage, the space will also offer seating, a standing area, an outdoor beer garden, a cafe and bar, and food trucks — as well as a parking lot.
