According to a recently submitted permit application, a new modern Californian eatery is coming to Berkeley at 235 University Avenue — landing near Cal Sailing Club, Skates on The Bay, and Roaming Bean Coffee.

According to its owner, Jong Yoon — who also operates local restaurant Hana Japan — Marina Seafood Dockside Patio will serve fresh seafood and comfort food in an “elevated yet unpretentious” setting overlooking the Marina waterfront.

The menu will offer items such as housemade pasta, fish and chips, and tempura battered veggies made with locally sourced ingredients. For example, Berkeley’s Acme will provide bread and buns.

Taking advantage of its bayside location, a large outdoor patio will serve as Marina Seafood’s main dining room.

The eatery has already hosted a soft opening and plans to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony in early March.
