Several Beloved San Francisco Restaurants Close in November
From aesthetic cafes and pastel-inspired breweries to global flavors at K-Element BBQ, the wave of closures has hit San Francisco hard. Four beloved Bay Area establishments closed down:
Roses’ Taproom

- Closing Date: November 15, 2025
Through a social media announcement, Oakland’s favorite, The Roses’ Taproom, shared the closing news. The beloved taproom offered in-house brews, wines, spritzes, and non-alcoholic drinks, along with bite-sized snacks to pair with the beverages.
Bob’s Donuts

- Closing Date: November 23, 2025
After seven decades, Bob’s Donuts has permanently closed its 1621 Polk Street location in San Francisco. The dessert shop had been a community staple, known for its raised chocolate and maple donuts, apple fritters, and cinnamon rolls
Operated by head chef Aya and co-leader Roberto, the donut shop closed its doors permanently on November 23.
K-Elements BBQ

- Closing Date: November 23, 2025
K-Elements BBQ on Clement Street served traditional Korean BBQ, including soups and a variety of meats such as beef, short ribs, and pork. The restaurant announced that rising rent costs have forced it to close on November 23.
K-Elements posted a message on social media thanking the community for their support.
Red Bay HQ Café

- Closing Date: End of November
Red Bay HQ Café, another Oakland staple, will close by the end of November. The café, known for drinks such as charcoal lattes, matcha tea, and iced oat milk lattes with cinnamon, had a loyal following.
In its official announcement, the restaurant explained that it is closing because the lease for the location has ended.
While the doors have closed, these restaurants left a lasting mark on the Bay Area dining community.
