Steven Decosse, the owner of Acre Pizza, has filed for an On-Sale Beer and Wine license for a new restaurant location at 8175 Gravenstein Highway in Cotati. The spot was previously home to the pool hall Red’s Recovery Room, and eateries in the vicinity include Mai Vietnamese Cuisine, China Village, and the coffee shop Johnny’s Java Cotati.

Acre Pizza currently has two locations, one in Petaluma, and the other in Sebastopol. On the menu are East Coast, Detroit, and Sicilian-style pizzas that earned the two shops awards this year — The Best Place for Pizza in Sonoma County by The Press Democrat Reader’s Choice 2022, and Best Pizza in North Bay by The Bohemian Magazine Sonoma County Reader’s Poll 2022. The eatery’s website attributes the success to the process, stating, “our dough is fermented for 72 hours, using Central Milling organic flour and ‘Old World’ baking techniques, resulting in a light and crispy crust.” The pizza parlor also serves beer, wine, and cider.

It hasn’t been confirmed as to whether the Cotati location will follow suit, but, in addition to its award-winning pizza, the Petaluma Acre Pizza offers community tables, billiards, and arcade games. It also allows reservations for special events like birthdays, engagements, weddings, graduations, and corporate events, among other types of celebrations.

What Now San Francisco briefly contacted Decosse, but he was unable to provide further information. An opening date has not yet been announced.
