According to Hoodline, Antoine’s Cookie Shop — a Bay Area bakery that currently has locations in San Mateo and Palo Alto — is expanding to San Francisco’s Mission Dolores neighborhood.
Coming to 2073 Market Street, taking over a space formerly home to Woodhouse Fish, the shop will land near establishments such as Il Casaro Pizzeria & Mozzarella Bar – Castro Location, Milay Sake + Wine Bar, and the Chinese restaurant New Red Jade.
The concept’s owner, Antoine Tang, tells What Now San Francisco, “When I was 12 years old, I was making cookies… When I was in junior high, I would go to my friend’s house, his mom had this wonderful kitchen, it would always be stocked with everything we needed.”
“Back in 2013, I remember one night, I was like, “I really want a fresh-baked cookie right now… I looked up the best chocolate chip recipe, I went to the store the next day, and then I made myself some cookies.”
“A few weeks later, one of my friends asked to buy two dozen of my cookies… very slowly, it grew. Every time I made money selling cookies, I would reinvest that into the business,” he concludes.
Currently, there is one Antoine’s Cookie Shop location in Palo Alto and another in San Mateo. Cookie flavors include chocolate chip, cookies ‘n cream, snickerdoodle, dark chocolate, peanut butter cup, and white chocolate macadamia.
“The building is still under construction, so we’re hoping to open in late July,” Tang shares. Stay tuned for updates.
