Atithi, a Bangladeshi-Californian fusion restaurant, is expanding into the adjacent space at 70 Moraga Way in Orinda, following a high demand since the restaurant’s Fall 2024 opening.

The expanded location will move into the former home of Anya’s Kitchen, according to the Bay Area Telegraph. While an exact opening date has not been announced, owners Shakura and Nur Zayed plan to increase seating capacity and improve the overall guest experience. Customers can expect the continuation of Atithi’s Cal-Bangla menu, featuring dishes that blend Bangladeshi flavors with fresh California ingredients and Halal meats.

Atithi launched in Fall 2024 and quickly gained attention as one of Orinda’s few options for authentic Bangladeshi cuisine. The restaurant occupies a location with established foot traffic and visibility near downtown Orinda. Expansion plans come less than a year after opening and respond to growing interest from both dine-in guests and online ordering customers.

The restaurant’s success has been marked by fully booked reservations, busy takeout orders, and the recent launch of catering services. The additional space will also support private-event hosting, allowing Atithi to serve larger groups and celebrations better.

Atithi’s menu includes signature dishes such as Goat Rezala, a creamy curry with pistachios, Beef Tehri biryani with braised beef, and a Tandoori platter. The cooking philosophy emphasizes clean oils like olive, avocado, and rice bran, along with from-scratch sauces and Halal-certified meats.
