According to a recent report by Oaklandside, Baby Cafe Hong Kong Bistro has shuttered its Oakland outpost and is planning to debut a new location at an undisclosed address in San Leandro.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the dining concept, it is known for its Hainan Chicken, “a dish of poached chicken and seasoned rice, served with chili sauce and usually comes with cucumber garnishes… created by immigrants from Hainan in southern China and adapted from the Hainanese dish Wenchang chicken,” according to the Baby Cafe website.

What Now San Francisco spoke briefly with the concept’s owner, Jun Chen, to inquire about the transition, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
