According to 48hills, Breadbelly — “a Richmond District-based spot inspired by Asian and American culinary traditions, and accented by contemporary Californian tastes” — is gearing up to debut a new outpost at the historical Building 12 on Pier 70.
Co-owner Clement Hsu — who operates the business alongside Katherine Campecino-Wong and James Wong— shares in a recent press release, “We are excited to join fellow makers and artisans in keeping alive the traditions of historical Building 12 with bun-making instead of shipbuilding!”
What Now San Francisco reached out to Campecino-Wong to inquire about her plans for the spot, but she could not provide additional information before publication.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the eatery, it offers a brief introduction in a recent Instagram post: “Breadbelly is a cozy neighborhood cafe in the heart of the Richmond District of San Francisco. They bring refined, casual cafe fare to the Bay Area. Its offerings are inspired by Asian and American culinary traditions, and accented by contemporary Californian tastes.”
“After they successfully raised $400,000 with 226 investors earlier this year, co-founders Katherine Campecino-Wong, James Wong, and Clement Hsu are back to raise $218,000 for working capital that will go towards their expansion,” the post continues.
Additional upcoming residents include Standard Deviant Brewing, Studio Duskus, Marbled Mint, Prowl Studio, and Scuderia, as well as a paper artist and a metalsmith.
An opening date has not yet been announced. Follow Breadbelly on Instagram for updates.
