Bay Area breakfast restaurant chain Hobee’s recently announced plans to close its 2312 Central Expressway location before the end of the month.

The business posted the news to Facebook earlier this week, sharing, “We have made the very difficult decision to close Hobee’s Mountain View, the original Best Darn Breakfast In Town, at the end of Thanksgiving Weekend. Our Mountain View location has been Hobee’s home since the Taber family first opened the doors in March 1974 and a legacy in the community. Unfortunately, the infrastructure is showing its age.”

The post continues, “It’s important that our beloved customers and long time crew find a new Hobee’s to call home, so we are coordinating the closure with preparations for the opening of our new location in Downtown San Jose. Hobee’s hospitality, familiar faces, hot tea, and signature Blueberry Coffeecake will be eagerly awaiting customers at our Belmont, Palo Alto, and Sunnyvale locations and ‘coming soon’ to downtown San Jose.”

Coming to 261 North Second Street, the eatery will land near Devine Cheese & Wine, La Victoria Taqueria, and Teske’s Germania.

Follow the eatery on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
