According to a pending on-sale beer and wine license application, Brew Coffee Bar and Taproom co-owners and couple Alisse Cottle and Jessica Borrayo are bringing a second outpost to Sonoma. Cottle tells What Now San Francisco that the “craft cafe” will open at 6566 Front Street in Forestville by February 2023.
The Forestville address was previously home to Backyard, a Californian eatery. It offers a large kitchen and an outdoor patio for dining that Cottle and Borrayo plan to take advantage of by expanding the food menu. In addition to a rotating selection of craft brews by Bay Area brewing companies — Russian River, Cooperage, and Moonlight, to name a few — and coffee by Ritual, the Front Street spot will offer paninis, burritos, and toasts.
After opening eight years ago in Santa Rosa, the “queer/women-owned cafe” has become a community staple in Sonoma County. Brew is known for providing “a welcoming place for all ages of LGBTQ folks, BIPOC folks, activists, artists, musicians, and creatives.” Cottle tells Sonoma Magazine, which recently reported on the opening, “We are excited and ready to spread some more Rainbow Unicorn Brew Magic.”
Cottle shares with What Now San Francisco that the new location will embrace the same “cozy coffeehouse vibes,” with longer hours — planning to be open from 7 am to 8 pm, seven days a week.
