This summer in Berkeley, look out for a new restaurant called Noody. The new business will be located at 2431 Durant Ave. in the former Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks space. The latter notes on Yelp that it will be returning in August, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
According to a new zoning certificate business license recently approved by the city, Noody will be taking over the 1,200 square foot restaurant space and installing a new sign. What Now San Francisco reached out to the owner of Noody, who says that the restaurant will specialize in instant noodles.
They will serve different flavors from various countries throughout the world. We imagine everything from spicy Samyang ramen of Korea to Maggi Masala noodles of India. Noody will also offer the option to build your own creation with fresh proteins and veggies.
This is the perfect concept for a restaurant that finds itself on the southern end of UC Berkeley’s campus. Instant noodles are synonymous with college students, who’ve creatively found ways to take their ramen to the next level with unique customizations. We’ll be excited to see Noody’s take on this trend when it opens on June 1st. Stay tuned.
