According to Palo Alto Online, the team behind the Orange County dining concept The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar is gearing up to debut a new concept in Palo Alto.
Coming to Stanford Shopping Center — landing in a suite between Bloomingdale’s and Anthropology — Cedar & Sage will soon be neighbored by existing tenants such as the Cal-Asian cuisine restaurant Dumpling Time, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, and the seafood concept Pacific Catch.
What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s co-owner, JC Clow, to learn more about his plans for the upcoming eatery; however, he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the Journal reports that Cedar & Sage will be a “chef-driven, wine-focused restaurant.” While the menu is still being developed, Crow shares that it will offer tapas-style dishes and “California Wine Country fare with influences from Hawaii” crafted by Chef Yvon Goetz.
Concerning the beverage selection, a variety of “cutting-edge” cocktails featuring “the most popular vodkas, scotches, single-malt scotches, small-batch bourbons, ports, and cognacs” will be served. The restaurant will also boast “a curated 250-selection wine program featuring bottles from every major wine-producing area on the West Coast,” per the Journal.
“We’re going to be that place for the foodies because with the pedigree and the background of the culinary team, but we’re not going to be that place that’s stiff and intimidating,” Clow tells Palo Alto Online.
He continues, “We want it to be welcoming, approachable, friendly, and at the end of the day, we want our guests to say, ‘Wow.’ We’re trying to deliver a wow experience.”
Cedar & Sage Bistro is scheduled to open in early November. Follow What Now San Francisco on Facebook for updates.
