Star chef Nora Haron along with Amanda Steckler are opening the much-awaited restaurant in Walnut Creek.

SanDai will be opening its doors at 1522 N Main St. in Walnut Creek. While earlier it was supposed to be named Table at 7, they changed it to SanDai in 2021 and it is slated to open mid-November

The dishes and techniques will be inspired by Singaporean and Indonesian cuisine such as beef randang, fried tempeh, braised beets and peanut sambal, eggplant sambal and more. It is also inspired by California creating a blend between two places. The menu will focus on Southeast Asian food.

The restaurant will have indoor and outdoor seating and will be accompanied by a Kopi Bar that will serve “strong, Singaporean-style coffee roasted with buttery sugar and sipped with condensed milk, along with espresso drinks.”

“It’s going to be inviting and vibrant,” she says. “You’ll feel like you’re in a modern take of Indonesia,” said Haron to The Mercury News.
