According to a recently submitted permit application, Chicago’s Chef Alexis Rorabaugh — the owner of the now-closed Italianette and former executive chef at Soho House & Co. — plans to debut a new concept in the Bay Area.
Cafe Torino, as the eatery is named in the filing, is coming to 2000 University Avenue in Berkeley, where it will land near establishments such as Café Tibet, Kinda Izakaya, and University Taqueria.
What Now San Francisco contacted Rorabaugh to inquire about the restaurant, but she could not provide additional information before publication.
What type of cuisine Cafe Torino will offer and when it plans to open is still a mystery — though Rorabaugh’s Italianette was known for its Italian-inspired pasta dishes and pizza.
Stay tuned for updates.
