American fast-casual chain Chipotle Mexican Grill is expanding in the East Bay — bringing made-to-order bowls, burritos, and tacos to a new outpost in Brentwood.
According to a recently submitted permit application, the franchise is opening at a custom-built space at 7580 Brentwood Boulevard, near eateries such as AHZEETU Korean Bistro, the bakery Doré, and Jack in the Box.
What Now San Francisco reached out to Chipotle’s VP of Operations Services, Haris Khan, but he was unable to provide additional information before the time of publication.
Nevertheless, existing Chipotle locations throughout the Bay Area — and across the globe — provide a blueprint of what’s to come.
Founded back in 1993 in Denver, Chipotle had 16 Colorado restaurants before McDonald’s became a major investor in 1998. Now, the franchise operates more than 450 outposts throughout California, and over 3,000 globally throughout the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, and France.
An opening date has not yet been announced, so follow Chipotle on Facebook and Instagram for additional updates. In the meantime, Brentwood residents, try Chipotle’s newest menu addition — chicken al pastor — at its existing spot at 5401 Lone Tree Way #100.
