According to the San Francisco Chronicle, a new coffee shop, art studio, and indoor play space is preparing to open in Petaluma.

Coming to 145 Kentucky Street, taking over a spot formerly home to Jamison’s Roaring Donkey, Art Play will land near Brewsters Beer Garden, Della Fattoria Downtown Cafe, and the steakhouse Seared.

The concept’s owners — Kate Greenspan, who founded Art Play in 2022, and Elena Kaljian, a “coffee industry veteran” — tell What Now San Francisco, “Our concept is a coffee shop merging playspace and an art studio in downtown Petaluma. We will have drop-in play in a designated room, and we will also have after-school art classes.”

“We have a lot of really fun community activities planned, for example, a youth open mic night,” they continue.

Concerning food and beverage offerings, the pair shares, “We’re really focusing on sourcing everything locally.” Some menu items will include pastries sourced from a local vendor and “munchables,” described as a “build-your-own Lunchable situation.”

Art Play is slated to open in early June.
