According to SFist, Don Ramon’s — a SoMa staple that closed in 2023 after 41 years in business — hopes to reopen later this year at the Embarcadero Center.

Located at 2 Embarcadero Center, Don Ramon’s is looking to join the mix at the same time as establishments such as the woman-operated boutique Ambiance, the French patisserie Boho Petite, the burger joint Burger Littles, functional medicine and integrative wellness business B12 LOVE, the small-batch toffee company Cheeky Bits Sweets, the pilates studio Elevate Pilates, and Puppies & Yoga (a concept that offers weekly yoga classes “accompanied by playful puppies and post-class cuddle sessions”).

The concept’s owners have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help source funding for renovations, sharing, “With the help of family friend and seasoned restaurateur Greg Bronstein — who’s opened over 60 Mexican restaurants around the world — many of the interior upgrades are already done.”

“We’re just 8 weeks from construction and reopening shortly after. All we need now is one final push,” the plea continues.

Should the business receive the community support it needs, locals can expect the historic restaurant to be back in business before the end of the year.
