Dumpling restaurant chain Dough Zone is expanding to Walnut Creek, according to a recently submitted permit application.

Coming to 1320 Locust Street, the eatery will land near establishments such as 5 Tacos & Beer, Rooftop Restaurant & Bar, and Sweetgreen.

For readers unfamiliar with Dough Zone, the concept was founded by Jason and Nancy Zhai in Bellevue in 2014 — “born out of a desire to bring traditional homemade Chinese comfort food to a modern setting,” as stated on the company’s website.

On the menu, Walnut Creek locals can expect to find soup dumplings, pan-fried buns, noodles, and pan-fried dumplings, all made with fresh, local ingredients.

What Now San Francisco contacted the owners to inquire about the upcoming outpost, but they could not provide additional information before publication.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so follow Dough Zone on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
