According to the San Francisco Business Times, Eagle Club Indoor Golf — “San Francisco’s only indoor driving range” — is leaving behind its spot at 840 Folsom Street and relocating to a new location in San Francisco. The new address has not been announced yet.

“Unfortunately, while operational costs have continued to rise, the conditions in our surrounding SoMa neighborhood have not improved,” Peter Erickson, the concept’s owner, shares on the venue’s website.

“It is simply not sustainable to continue our services on Folsom. We are actively planning to reopen a new facility in a different neighborhood, and I will keep you posted as those plans come together.”

“When we opened [in 2013] it was a convenient place for people who lived and worked in the area to golf,” Erickson said. “Now it’s become a destination, and no one, honestly, wants to travel down here… I took a gamble when Covid hit and I’ve been holding out for quite some time hoping the neighborhood would come back.”

What Now San Francisco reached out to Erickson to inquire about his plans for the spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Stay tuned for updates.
