Fieldwork Brewing Co., a Berkeley-born craft brewery, is getting ready to open a full-service restaurant and taproom in San Francisco at 300 Toni Stone Crossing.
The company’s new location is one of three incoming retailers announced as part of the Mission Rock waterfront development, according to the San Francisco Business Times. Fieldwork Brewing will occupy a 3,750-square-foot space and is expected to open in 2026, alongside a Chipotle and MNT Studio Pilates. While an exact opening date has not been announced, customers can expect a full-service taproom and kitchen, with beer available on tap and to go. The Mission Rock taproom will add another San Francisco presence for the expanding brewery.
Founded in 2014, Fieldwork Brewing Company is headquartered in Berkeley and operates multiple taprooms across Northern California. Current locations include Berkeley, Corte Madera, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Leandro, San Mateo, San Ramon, and Santa Rosa. The brewery is known for its frequent releases and wide range of styles. Its approach centers on small-batch production and an ever-changing tap list.
Fieldwork Brewing’s Mission Rock plans extend beyond the taproom itself. The company will also operate a food-and-beverage kiosk and an adjoining beer garden within the five-acre China Basin Park. The park serves as a central community space within the development. This setup allows Fieldwork to serve both taproom customers and park visitors. It also aligns with Mission Rock’s focus on outdoor gathering areas.
Mission Rock is a 28-acre waterfront project in Mission Bay developed by Mission Rock Partners, a joint venture between Tishman Speyer and the San Francisco Giants. The first phase was delivered in late 2023 and early 2024 and includes office buildings, residential towers, and retail space. That phase was named the San Francisco Business Times’ 2023 Deal of the Year.
Fieldwork Brewing’s beer lineup spans a wide range of styles, including West Coast and hazy IPAs, lagers, barrel-aged stouts, sours, and seasonal releases. Notable offerings include its Anniversary IPAs, Good Conduct barrel-aged series, Viking’s Lament, and rotating double- and triple-IPA releases. Most beers are available on tap and in 16-ounce cans for takeaway, along with non-alcoholic options.
