Fogo de Chão, the internationally recognized Brazilian steakhouse known for its churrasco style dining, is looking to open a new location in Daly City at 1 Serramonte Center, Suite B.

The company recently submitted a liquor license application to open in the current Macy’s location at Serramonte Center. While an exact opening timeline has not yet been confirmed, the filing signals plans for the brand to enter the Daly City market. Customers can expect Fogo de Chão’s signature tableside carved meats and a large selection of market-style sides and salads.

Fogo de Chão was founded in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 1979 and expanded to the United States in 1997. The brand has since grown into a global restaurant company with dozens of locations across the U.S., Latin America, and the Middle East. The concept centers on the Brazilian tradition of churrasco, where premium cuts of meat are roasted over an open flame and served continuously by gaucho chefs. Each restaurant also features a Market Table filled with seasonal salads, charcuterie, vegetables, and other cold offerings.

California is already home to multiple Fogo de Chão restaurants, including locations in San Francisco, San Jose, Pasadena, Irvine, and San Diego. The company has continued to expand throughout the state in recent years as demand for its churrasco experience has grown. Additional U.S. locations are also in development, including upcoming restaurants in Gilbert, Goodyear, and Peoria, Arizona; Atlanta’s Mall of Georgia, Georgia; Peabody, Massachusetts; Princeton, New Jersey; and Charlotte, North Carolina.

The restaurant’s Full Churrasco Experience includes a continuous selection of fire-roasted meats, carved tableside throughout the meal. Cuts typically include picanha, filet mignon, lamb, pork, and chicken, along with Brazilian side dishes that accompany the meal. The Market Table is naturally gluten-free and features a rotating mix of salads, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables.

In addition to lunch and dinner service, many locations also offer weekday lunch specials, weekend Brazilian brunch, and an all-day happy hour at Bar Fogo. Beverage menus typically highlight South American wines, cocktails, and spirits that complement the restaurant’s grilled meats and traditional dishes. If approved, the Daly City location would bring this dining experience to the Serramonte Center area.
