Numerous Santa Cruz wharf restaurants have temporarily shuttered due to the infrastructure’s recent collapse, according to ABC7 — including Gilda’s on the Wharf.

On December 24, the restaurant posted an update to its Facebook page: “Happy Holidays to all of our fans! Have a safe and happy holiday! We are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! The Wharf is temporarily closed and we hope to reopen soon.”

For readers who are unfamiliar with Gilda’s on the Wharf, the concept describes itself as “a Santa Cruz tradition for over 50 years, located at the center of the iconic Santa Cruz Wharf” on Facebook.

On its menu are items ranging from appetizers such as chowder and onion rings to mains including seafood salads, sandwiches, pasta, and steaks — as well as a broad selection of cocktails, beer, and wine.

According to Santa Cruz Restaurant Week, Gilda’s is owned by the Original Stagnaro family.

What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s backers — Debbie and Scott McPherson, Vice President of Stagnaro Brothers Seafood Inc. — to inquire about their plans for reopening, but they could not provide additional information before publication.
