Gilman Brewing at 706 Main Street — near ICICLES ice cream shop, New York Pizza Pleasanton, and Oyo South American restaurant — closed down last November for renovations.

The business made the announcement on Facebook, writing, “We will be closing for the winter as we make appropriate changes to better serve the Ptown community.”

It now seems that the renovation project might be nearing completion, drawing from a recent beer and wine license application.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, Gillman Brewing is a small beer manufacturer that “rotates 35 seasonal and annual beers throughout the year, available both on draught and select special releases in 16 oz. cans,” according to its website.

The business was established in 2015, when John Schuman, Sean Wells, and Tim Sellmeyer opened the first production and brewery location in West Berkeley — a result of their “common love for the nuanced, complex flavors of Belgian Farmhouse ales.”

Gillman now operates at three locations — in Berkeley, Daly City, and Santa Cruz. The Pleasanton taproom will mark its fourth spot.
