Greystone Lounge, a new music bar concept, is getting ready to open in Novato at 7377 Redwood Blvd.

The new concept will take over the former home of The Viking Cocktail Lounge, according to a recent liquor license application. The new bar is being launched by Ryan Blanchard, a longtime San Francisco bartender with more than 30 years of experience. Blanchard and his wife, both artists, moved to Novato over five years ago and are bringing their creative vision to the venue. Blanchard tells WhatNow San Francisco that they expect to open between mid-June and early July 2026.

The name Greystone Lounge was chosen to honor the town in Ireland where Blanchard’s grandparents lived. The couple had originally planned to call the bar Mamita’s Lounge after Blanchard’s grandmother, but changed it to avoid confusion with an existing local Mexican restaurant. The concept will focus on live music, highlighting both local and regional acts.

The location on Redwood Blvd provides continuity in nightlife offerings while introducing a fresh concept to the community. The bar will serve as a gathering spot for music lovers and residents, combining entertainment with a welcoming environment.

Greystone Lounge will reflect the couple’s artistic sensibilities alongside Blanchard’s extensive bartending experience. Customers can expect a music-driven atmosphere paired with carefully crafted drinks and a creative, energetic vibe.

The opening adds to Novato’s growing mix of independently owned bars and live music venues, contributing to the city’s local nightlife scene while introducing a distinctive, artistically inspired concept.
