According to an on-sale beer and wine license application pending since October 28th, a new gyro restaurant is coming to the Mission District.

Gyros and Tzatziki will take over 3111 24th Street, a spot that was previously home to Indian soul food restaurant Ritu, which closed down on October 30th. The new eatery will land close to Philz Coffee, Sidewalk Juice, The Pizza Shop, La Reyna Bakery and Coffee Shop, and Sun Rise Salvadoran restaurant.

Cem Bulutoglu, the co-founder of Gyro Xpress in Castro, is listed as the owner. Gyros and Tzatziki will mark his first solo venture.

According to the Business Times, Bulutoglu is “aiming to open Gyros and Tzatziki in early December.” He says to “expect a similar menu and style to Gyro Xpress, with kebabs, wraps, burgers, and the namesake gyros with tangy tzatziki yogurt sauce.”

What Now San Francisco briefly contacted Bulutoglu, but he could not provide additional information before the time of publication.
