White Horse Tavern — an extension of next-door establishment Hotel Beresford, “a boutique hotel and Union Square mainstay” — is planning to reopen, according to a recent permit application.
At 637 Sutter Street in Lower Nob Hill, the restaurant and bar neighbors eateries such as Chesty’s Bar, the Mexican restaurant Matador, and Piraat Pizzeria & Rotisserie.
Formerly known as a joint where “draft beers [went] down easy alongside [its] fish and chips and other pub-style favorites,” the restaurant’s current owner, Shailendra Devdhara, tells What Now San Francisco that the concept is still in development, but that he will provide additional information when it’s available.
It’s still up in the air as to whether or not the business will remain “a favorite among art school students, travelers on a budget, and locals seeking a laid-back vibe and one of the best fish and chip values in San Francisco,” as it was in the past.
Stay tuned for further updates, and, in the meantime, follow the hotel on Facebook.
