According to a recently published permit application, the international coffee giant Starbucks is planning to open a new outpost at 151 University Avenue in Palo Alto.

The address was formerly home to Lemonade, a health-focused restaurant concept, and nearby establishments include Sprout Café, Sweet Maple Palo Alto, and Verve Coffee Roasters.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Polly Guy, the Regional Director of Operations, to find out details about the upcoming coffee shop, but she was not immediately available for comment.

Nevertheless, public records provide some information about where the company is in the pre-opening process. According to the application, the company currently seeks approval to install one wall sign and two illuminated hanging signs for “Starbucks.”

How long renovations will take is still unclear — and an opening date hasn’t yet been announced — so stay tuned for additional updates.
