We Be Sushi

After nearly four decades of serving in the Mission District, We Be Sushi is closing its doors permanently. According to a report by Mission Local, the 76-year-old chef and owner, Andy Tonozuka, revealed his decision to retire. Over the years, he has served the neighborhood with his elite skills and has also operated up to five locations in his prime.

Known for delicious and filling Japanese cuisine served at a reasonable price, We Be Sushi was a beloved restaurant in the Mission District. The sushi spot was known for its intimate setting and for serving a highly personalized omakase experience.

Ilcha

San Francisco restaurants that closed in February 2026.

Ilcha at 2151 Lombard Street closed this month, bringing an end to its four-year-long journey. It was popular for its Korean flavors, which soon made it a beloved gathering spot. The news of the closure did not share the reason behind the decision.

The vibrant spot was known for its cozy and warm atmosphere. It serves Korean cuisine, including Korean Fried Chicken, Ganjang Gaejang, Wagyu Bulgogi Tater Tots, and more. Know more about the closure here.

Kothai Republic brought a blend of Korean and Thai flavors to San Francisco, offering a unique experience. Chef Sung Park and his team presented guests with a unique experience with their creative dishes. Unfortunately, the daily turnout was not up to par and led to the closure of the restaurant.
