Latin comfort food concept Cholita Linda — currently found dishing out baja fish tacos in Alameda, Oakland, at San Francisco’s Ferry Building, and in Walnut Creek — is opening its fifth outpost.

Coming to 2000 Kala Bagai Way in Berkeley, according to a recently submitted permit application, Cholita Linda will land near Blue Bottle Coffee, Comal, and IPPUDO Berkeley.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the eatery, Cholita Linda was founded in 2008 and began by selling at East Bay farmers’ markets before launching its brick-and-mortar restaurants.

In addition to fresh tacos, patrons can expect to find sandwiches and salads on the menu — as well as plates such as the Picadillo, Chicharron de Pollo, and Pollo Cholita.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Cholita Linda’s owners, Murat Sozeri and Vanessa Chavez, but they could not provide additional information before the time of publication.

An opening date has not yet been announced, so follow Cholita Linda on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
