Left Bank Brasserie, a French restaurant with locations in Larkspur, Menlo Park and San Jose’s Santana Row, will open their fourth location in Oakland. Vine Hospitality recently announced they will be contributing to Jack London Square’s dining scene with Left Bank’s Parisian-style brasserie cuisine this winter.
The restaurant was founded in 1994 by chef and James Beard nominee Roland Passot, who is known for his work at La Folie in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood. Named for the renowned bank of the Seine River in Paris, Left Bank’s seasonally changing menu offers a diverse selection of French recipes and classics that feature fresh seafood, premium meats, hearty salads and decadent desserts.
Designed by Oakland architecture firm Arcsine, the upcoming restaurant will feature desirable outdoor terrace seating that is likely to evoke a sense of dining and socializing at an authentic French brasserie, much like many notable artists, writers and philosophers throughout history.
The engaging wine list will be curated by Sommelier Serena Harkey, while an artisan craft cocktail bar will offer classic, current and signature libations. Passot oversees Left Bank Brasserie alongside Vine Hospitality CEO Obadiah Ostergard, who also manages LB Steak, Meso Modern Mediterranean, the Mac’n Cheese Shop and Lito’s Cocina Hispania.
