According to a recently submitted alcohol license application, the local concept Chandni Chowk — which currently operates a brick-and-mortar in Santa Clara and a food truck in Fremont — is planning to debut a new brick-and-mortar spot in Milpitas.
Coming to 1818 Milmont Drive, the eatery will land near establishments such as Curry Pizza House, De Los Altos Grill, and Orange Square.
The restaurant’s owner, Sakun Rai, tells What Now San Francisco, “If you go to Delhi, there’s a very popular market called Chandni Chowk… there are a lot of sellers and food vendors that have been setting up shop there for generations.”
He says that he hopes the upcoming spot in Milpitas matches the ability of the existing locations to transport diners back to these markets in India.
“The opening date is not fixed yet, maybe like a month from now. That’s what we are targeting, but we are still not sure,” shares Rai.
