M.Y. China, a concept by Chef Martin Yan and Koi Palace that shuttered back in 2020, is looking to reopen in Chinatown, according to SFGATE.
Yan tells the journal, “We’re looking at a couple of locations,” adding, “One location is Cathy House on California Street and Grant Avenue, which has the cable car stop right there” — though no lease has been signed just yet.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the chef, outside of his restaurant endeavors, Yan is known for his series “Martin Yan’s MY Chinatown,” in which he explores and introduces restaurants in his hometown to the audience.
“There’s no other Chinatown as powerful, historical, beautiful, and as fun as the Chinatown in San Francisco,” Yan shares.
On the menu, patrons can expect to find hand-pulled noodles and an assortment of traditional Chinese dishes, and Dungeness crab during its season.
M.Y. China is slated to open in early 2024. Stay tuned for additional updates.
