Mama’s Lumpia is gearing up to welcome customers at 5868 Pacheco Blvd. in Pacheco. A lease for the brick-and-mortar location was signed in January and will finally open towards the end of this year.
Mama’s Lumpia is known, of course, for their crispy lumpia, which is like a thinner, more savory version of an egg roll and a staple in Filipino Cuisine. In addition to these addicting finger foods, Mama’s Lumpia has a full menu of Filipino-inspired dishes. Other popular items include the Garlic Noods and Mama’s Ube Milk Tea.
The Delos Santos family migrated to the U.S. from the Philippines in 2004, bringing with them traditional Filipino recipes and culinary prowess. Using recipes that their mother has mastered, the Delos Santos children came up with the idea for Mama’s Lumpia.
Owner Celina Delos Santos started the business with her younger brother Simon in February 2020. The onset of the pandemic, however, was only a minor obstacle to the success of Mama’s Lumpia. Their current business model relies on online orders for pick-up and delivery of to-go meals and catering platters.
Until now, Mama’s Lumpia has been operating out of a home kitchen. But with a growing fan base throughout the Bay Area, it’s high time for the family-owned business to set up an official storefront. The Pacheco location will primarily be for takeout orders and you ought to follow their Instagram so you can be the first in line. After all, they “can’t have lumpia without u!”
