According to a recently submitted license application, the restaurateurs behind San Jose restaurant chain Mariscos Costa Alegre plan to open a new outpost in the city.

Coming to 5365 Camden Avenue — an address currently home to the breakfast restaurant Benedict’s — the eatery will land near establishments such as MJM properties, Round Table Pizza, and Sushi Masa.

What Now San Francisco contacted the concept’s owners, Marco Hernandez and Luis Hernandez Ruiz, to inquire about the expansion, but they could not provide additional information before publication.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Mariscos Costa Alegre, the family-run business was founded in 2018 and prides itself on serving fresh and authentic Mexican-inspired cuisine — with menu items ranging from ceviche to fajitas and sushi rolls.

The upcoming Camden Avenue spot will mark the eatery’s fourth outpost in San Jose — joining its existing locations on 13th Street, Alum Rock Avenue, and Monterey Highway.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so follow Mariscos Costa Alegre on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
