According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Reem’s — a Mission District-based bakery and catering business known for its freshly-baked bread and use of “traditional Arab flavors” — is gearing up to open a new location in autumn 2025.
Taking over a 3,000-square-foot space at 85 Webster Street that formerly belonged to Timeless Coffee, the eatery will land near establishments such as Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine, Heinold’s First and Last Chance Saloon, and NōKA Ramen & Bar.
“Jack London Square has always been this: Do we take the risk? But I’ve always believed that when you have a good anchor, that place gets really enlivened,” the concept’s owner, Baker Reem Assil, tells the Chronicle.
What Now San Francisco reached out to Assil — “a 2018 James Beard Semi-Finalist for Best Chef West, San Francisco Magazine’s 2018 Chef of the Year, and San Francisco Chronicle’s 2017 Rising Star Chef,” per the Reem’s website — however, she could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, according to the Journal, the intimate cafe will offer a selective menu consisting of options such as coffee-based beverages, fresh pita bread alongside an assortment of dips, and mana’eesh sprinkled with herbs.
While there will be limited seating available, Assil predicts that the majority of the orders will be to-go.
