Mister G’s Sports Bar, a new concept from local operators Fearghal McEleney and Kayla Johnson, is preparing to open at 77 Cambon Drive in San Francisco.
The bar will take over the former site of The Lister Bar, located in the Parkmerced Shopping Center near San Francisco State University, according to a liquor license application. The new venue will feature nine TVs and a sports-focused atmosphere, aiming to attract students, locals, and game-day crowds. A representative from the company tells What Now San Francisco that Mister G’s is expected to open in mid-December 2025. The team is still deciding whether to offer on-site food, noting that the location is already surrounded by eateries such as Taqueria Dos Charros and Hall of Flame Burger & Breakfast.
This opening marks a new chapter for a space with a complex history. Previously known as Park 77, the bar was featured on Bar Rescue and later rebranded as The Lister. Despite a redesign that included a modernized interior and outdoor beer garden, The Lister ultimately closed in early 2021.
With high visibility from the SFSU campus and steady foot traffic in the area, Mister G’s Sports Bar could benefit from the built-in customer base and continued housing development in the Parkmerced neighborhood. While full details on the design and offerings are still forthcoming, the new ownership appears to be positioning the concept as a refreshed, college-friendly sports bar with a local twist.
