According to a recently submitted permit application, Ohana Floral Sweets — “a mochi pop-up run by first-generation Japanese immigrant mother and her 2nd generation daughter” — is renting a commercial kitchen space in Berkeley.

Coming to 2428 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley, the delivery-only business will land near establishments such as Fish & Bird Sousaku Izakaya, Mohka House, and Noodles Fresh.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept, it offers a brief introduction on its website: “We specialize in flower-themed mochi, which changes every month, featuring seasonal flowers and ingredients. Everything is scratch-made with care and love.”

What Now San Francisco reached out to Mana Hasegawa, a co-owner of the business, to inquire about her plans for the shop, but she could not provide additional information before publication.

Additional details have not been announced. Follow Ohana Floral Sweets on Instagram for updates.
