According to a recent business license application, a new eatery called My-O-My Shawarma will be replacing Mediterranean restaurant D’Yar at 1866 Euclid Avenue in Berkeley. The restaurant will neighbor existing establishments La Crêpe à Moi, La Val’s Pizza, and Zach’s sandwich shop.

My-O-My Shawarma’s owner Javed Ahmadi tells What Now San Francisco that the transition is more of an ownership change. While he will take over and change the name, the menu will mostly “remain consistent.”

The current D’Yar menu offers gyros, vegetarian wraps, kebab plates, salads, and sides like baklava, baba ghanouj, and tabouli.

Ahmadi is already a successful restaurateur in the Bay Area. He is the owner of Chopan Kabob, which has three locations — one in Concord, Sacramento, and San Ramon — and has been in operation for over 16 years.

The ownership change and transition will be finalized before the end of February.
