The Lodge, a longstanding neighborhood bar known for its aesthetic appeal and easygoing atmosphere, is preparing to close its doors. Like many other food establishments in the Bay Area, it was struck by the pandemic and could not withstand the uncertainty associated with the food and beverage industry.
Beloved Bar The Lodge to Bid Farewell

The Lodge at 3758 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, is a local staple for those seeking a dimly lit, soothing place. It has wood interiors and serves snacks, meaty sandwiches, veggie options & a full bar in a chic, chalet-style tavern. Along the way, the bar built a loyal customer base, and its cocktails keep regulars coming back for more.
In a recent Instagram post, the owners said that The Lodge will remain open to guests until January 7, 2026. The bar couldn’t bounce back enough to keep things going, as the pandemic affected foot traffic, the owners explained in the post. They invited patrons to make the most of the bar’s last days and enjoy the holiday season there.

The owners also expressed gratitude towards the community for their love and support, as the post read, “What we do want to say is thank you. Thank you for showing up, for supporting us, for bringing your families, for recommending us to friends, and for making this a place where people felt welcome. This neighborhood has always been the heart of The Lodge, and we are grateful to have been part of it”.
The Lodge has set up a GoFundMe account to cover the closing costs. It will also host an auction of the memorabilia kept in the bar in mid-January.
