According to a recently submitted permit application, a new bagel concept, Bageltopia, plans to debut in Berkeley.

Co-founder Mike Daillak tells What Now San Francisco that the counter-service eatery will offer bagels made fresh in-house daily, including dessert versions, as well as breakfast and lunch sandwiches and frittatas.

“There’s also going to be a mirror image of the menu with vegan options,” Daillak shares, listing toppings and ingredients such as carrot lox, jackfruit, and vegan cream cheese.

Daillak, who co-owns the business alongside Dan Graf of the now-shuttered Baron Bagels and Jeff Davis of Fellini Coffee Bar, is already an established restaurateur in the Bay Area — readers are likely familiar with his existing eatery, the East Bay staple Sam’s Log Cabin.

In addition to indoor and patio seating, the 1401 University Avenue spot boasts a parking lot.

Bageltopia is slated to open in February. Stay tuned for updates.
