According to a recently submitted permit application, a new eatery listed as Gadani Cafe is planning to open in Berkeley.

Coming to 2139 Shattuck Avenue, the concept will land near establishments such as Imm Thai Street Food, the Californian restaurant Gather, and the pizza shop Jupiter.

What Now San Francisco reached out to the concept’s owner, Wing Yee Maegan Tam, to inquire about her plans for the spot, but she could not provide additional information before application.

Nevertheless, the business offers a brief introduction on its website: “The Gadani team is committed to bringing the Hong Kong delicacy, egg waffles, to the Berkeley community with a modern twist, while using our authentic recipe.”

“We care about our customers’ waffle experience; all of our egg waffles are 100% handcrafted and freshly made. With the hope of upgrading the waffle experience, we decided to add ice cream on top of egg waffles so that customers could experience both hot and cold textures at once,” the statement continues.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
