According to a recently submitted alcohol license application, a new restaurant listed as The Rendez-Vous is preparing to open in Oakland.
Coming to 5526 Martin Luther King Jr Way, taking over an address currently home to Mignonne Decor, the eatery will land near establishments such as It’s All Good Bakery, The Bay’s Taco Truck, and 5 Star BBQ.
What Now San Francisco reached out to the upcoming eatery’s owner, Johnelle Paige Mancha, to learn more about her plans for The Rendez-Vous; however, she could not provide additional information before publication.
Per the contact information provided, it appears that Mancha is also the owner of the existing business, Mignonne Decor, a small business that offers vintage furniture and home decor, as well as services such as furniture reupholstery and interior design.
An opening date for The Rendez-Vous on Martin Luther King Jr Way has not been announced yet; however, its arrival contributes to North Oakland’s ever-changing entrepreneurial ecosystem.
North Oakland has seen plenty of openings and closings over the past few months. Locals recently said goodbye to the popular Middle Eastern restaurant Pomella, which shuttered due to an inability to continue covering costs back in May. On the other hand, top Italian cuisine restaurant Belotti Ristorante e Bottega is opening a large new pasta shop and production facility at 5317 Martin Luther King Way in 2026.
