Doppio Zero, an Italian restaurant, pizzeria, and bar founded in Mountain View, is expanding to Campbell — opening at 220 East Campbell Avenue later this winter.

Co-Owner Gianni Chiloiro tells What Now San Francisco that the project has been underway for nearly two years, citing permitting and construction delays as the cause.

“We’re combining two stores, a candy shop, and a gym, so the renovations are taking a while,” he shares, adding that because it’s an older building, it has needed a lot of remodeling.

Once the former Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Store and workout facility are merged, the space will total 4,400 square feet — and Chiloiro promises a “beautiful” restaurant upon its completion.

Alongside his business partner, Angelo Sannino, Chiloiro has built a reputation in the Bay Area for his concept Vida — a new tapas restaurant in Mountain View — and four existing Doppio Zero locations across the Bay Area.

Additionally, the upcoming Campbell Avenue spot isn’t all Chiloiro has up his sleeve — he discloses to Palo Alto Online that he’s “planning to open another Doppio Zero next year between San Carlos and San Francisco, and a second Vida location in San Jose.”

Doppio Zero in Campbell is slated to open before Christmas. For updates, follow the pizzeria on Facebook and Instagram.
